What split screen means for Chaturbate

Split screen, in the context of live cam sites, means dividing your monitor into two or more sections, each showing a different live room. The goal is to keep multiple performers visible at the same time without switching tabs and losing context.

The standard workaround — tiling browser windows manually — works, but it is clunky. Each window has its own toolbar, tab bar, and address bar eating into the visible space. On a 1920px monitor, two tiled browser windows leave you with roughly 800px of video each, once the chrome is accounted for. CamWall removes that overhead: two cells means two full-width video embeds filling the available area, edge to edge.

Two rooms or more

CamWall's grid is not locked to two cells. You can open 2, 4, 6, 9 — up to 16 or more on a wide screen. The term "split screen" usually implies two, but the underlying need is the same: see multiple streams at once without switching between them. Two is a natural starting point for comparing performers or keeping a favourite visible while browsing.

To get a two-cell layout, open CamWall and resize your browser window until only two columns fit — each column is one stream. The grid adapts automatically based on available width, with a minimum cell width of about 320px. You can also narrow the window on a laptop display to force a 2-column view, or use a 1080p monitor in portrait orientation.

Audio: one room at a time

All cells start muted. This is intentional — multiple concurrent audio streams competing for attention is overwhelming rather than useful. When you find a room you want to listen to, you hover the cell and click the sound icon. All other cells remain muted. You can change which cell has audio at any time without reloading anything.

The split-screen model works well here: one room is your primary (unmuted), the others are visual monitoring. Your eyes scan across; your ears stay focused.

Chaturbate embeds: what you see

Each cell in CamWall is a live Chaturbate embed — the same video stream you would see on the performer's own page, cropped to the video area so the chat panel and tip controls do not take up space. The video quality is whatever Chaturbate sends: typically 480p on mobile, 720p or 1080p on desktop depending on the performer's setup and your connection.

CamWall does not host or transcode video. It is a layout layer on top of Chaturbate's own embed system. If a performer's room is online, it appears. If they go offline, the cell shows a placeholder until you swap in a different stream.
